Hey guys, it’s George here.
Here’s a bit about me, and why I came to love traveling and writing about these awesome continents.
From a young age I’ve always dreamed of traveling to Latin America.
I remember I used to repeatedly watch travel documentaries which had all of these iconic places, sexy women and spicy cultures.
It almost felt like they were teasing me to come and explore. I was hooked.
I even used to download tonnes of photos taken from around the continent, and have them on a rotating display on my laptop (yep I guess you can say I was pretty fucking obsessed).
I started traveling around when I was 19, however it wasn’t until I was 22 and fresh out of university did I start to explore Latin America.
My first trip lasted around 6 months, which was cut shorter than planned due to a few different factors (moving back to Europe with an ex girlfriend as well as poor financial planning being a few).
During this time, I visited Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala and Colombia. From there I was convinced I’ll see the whole thing. One way or another.
It was also around this time I discovered my love for writing, and especially the fact that I could share my experiences and help others achieve their dream of traveling, just like I did.
Fast forward to now, and I’m more or less living and traveling around these regions indefinitely.
I’ve now spent a year seeing pretty much everything over here, and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
Fun Facts about George:
- I was born and raised in the UK with a mix of English and Mexican heritage.
- Of all the countries in Latin America, Peru 🇵🇪 has left the biggest impression on me so far.
- I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese (the latter I literally learned on the streets whilst traveling through Brazil).
- I will literally do anything possible to save money (Eating where the locals eat & walking around are my best pieces of advice for similar grouches).
- You’ll most likely find me chilling in Plazas or on the Beach.
